YOUTH OFFENDING TEAMS

Programmes available

Junior Wheels Kick Start and Kick Start PLUS Programmes (karting , Bangers'n' Smash or Servicing) 

for 15 - 18 year olds. 

     No statutory funding is available directly to The Wheels Project in 2007 - 08 and each Youth Offending Team (YOT) need to find funding for these programmes from its' own budgets. Trusts are becoming increasingly reluctant to support Statutory provision but will consider funding initiatives / programmes that are coordinated by YOTs but which do not serve as part of a Court Order.

In the financial year 2007 - 08 we delivered 5 Kick Start programmes to Bristol YOT : 21 (13) young offenders enrolled (of whom 5 (9) were subject to an Intensive Supervision and Surveillance Plan, ISSP) and 14 (7) completed  67% (54%).

Attendance rates averaged 65%.

YOUTH INCLUSION PROJECTS

Programmes available

Our Junior Wheels Programmes are available for groups from Youth Inclusion Projects (YIPs).  We delivered 1 Kick Start Karts Programmes to 1 YIP within the Bristol area in the financial year 2007 - 08.

No direct statutory funding is available to The Wheels Project currently and each YIP will need to find full funding for these programmes from its' own budgets. Barton Hill YIP has secured monies through the Big Lottery Fund for 3 Pogrammes in 2008-09
